WIRE ROPE SERVICE offers state of the art VISUAL ROPE INSPECTIONS with WINSPECT®, an advanced, fully digital, computerized visual rope inspection system.

Utilizing four cameras and robust software, this system analyzes 360° of the rope surface for the most accurate detection of broken wires, lightning strikes, and other surface abnormalities. In addition, lay lengths and diameters of the entire length of the rope are measured.

 

WRS's digital method of rope inspection is fail-proof compared to conventional ocular rope inspections. Our system virtually eliminates human error and maximizes reproducibility. In addition, fixed-grip chairlifts can be fully inspected without removing the chairs, and ropes can be inspected at a speed of 3 meters per second (590 fpm).

 

WINSPECT® has developed this visual rope inspection device together with the INSITUTE OF MECHANICAL HANDLING AND LOGISTICS (IFT) at THE UNIVERSITY OF STUTTGART, it is the first and only unit operating in North America.
